Effective Date: September 23, 2026

Version: v1.2

Introduction

Welcome to TalkAny! We take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information, and the rights you have.

Please read and understand this Privacy Policy in full before using our services. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please stop using our services immediately.

1. Information We Collect

1. Account Information

- Username: used to identify you

- Password: stored only in irreversibly encrypted (hashed) form, used for account verification

- Nickname and avatar: your nickname is automatically generated and can be changed by you; your avatar is an image you may optionally upload. Your nickname and avatar are visible to other users

2. Content You Post

- Whispers (drift bottles): stored on our servers for random delivery and pickup

- Chat messages (text, image, voice): stored on our servers to deliver, sync, and manage read receipts and recalls; image messages are ephemeral by default and are destroyed after the recipient views them

- Tide lighthouses and mood records: stored on our servers; lighthouse content expires about 48 hours after posting and is no longer shown to other users

- Block list: linked only to your account, used to block messages from blocked users

3. Transaction and Entitlement Information

- Apple In-App Purchase (IAP) receipts, order identifiers, and entitlement status: used to activate and verify your VIP subscriptions, passes, and credit packs. Payments are processed by Apple; we never have access to your bank card or payment account details

- Ad reward records: used to grant rewarded-ad bonuses and enforce daily caps

- VIP level and activity value: used to calculate daily quotas

4. Device and Log Information

- Device model, OS version, and network status: used for compatibility and optimization

- Push device token: used to send you message notifications via Apple Push Notification service (APNs)

- IP address and service logs: used for security auditing and troubleshooting

5. Advertising

- Our rewarded ads are provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the advertising ID), IP address, and similar information under its own privacy policy for ad delivery and measurement

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We take data minimization seriously. TalkAny does not collect:

- Phone numbers or email addresses (registration does not require them)

- Your contacts

- Your precise location

- Your photo library (we only read the specific file you choose when you actively send an image or set an avatar)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

1. Provide, maintain, and improve core services, including drift bottles, real-time chat, tide, mood calendar, message recall, read receipts, and block/report features

2. Activate and verify paid entitlements (VIP subscriptions, passes, credit packs)

3. Grant ad rewards and enforce daily caps

4. Keep content safe, including automated sensitive-content detection, violation recording, and enforcement

5. Send you conversation and system notifications (you can turn these off in system settings)

6. Respond to your requests, complaints, and feedback

7. Comply with legal and regulatory requirements

4. How We Store Your Information

1. Storage Location

The information above is stored on cloud servers we lease. Your device keeps a partial local cache (such as the session list and app settings) to improve performance; clearing local data only affects the on-device cache, not server-side data.

2. Retention Periods

- Account information: kept until you delete your account

- Whispers: kept until picked up or until the expiry condition you set is reached

- Text chat messages: kept until the related conversation is deleted or you delete your account

- Image messages (ephemeral): destroyed immediately after the recipient views them

- Voice messages: periodically purged after delivery under our retention policy

- Tide lighthouses: expire about 48 hours after posting and are no longer displayed

- Transaction receipts and order records: retained as required for financial and compliance purposes

- Service logs: kept for no more than 180 days for security auditing

- Data after account deletion: deleted or anonymized as described in Section 6

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

1. With your explicit consent

2. With third-party service providers that support our service, on a need-to-know basis, including:

- Apple Inc.: In-App Purchase (StoreKit) and Push Notification service (APNs)

- Google LLC (AdMob): rewarded ad delivery

These third parties process information under their own privacy policies, and we assess their security before integration

3. As required by applicable laws or lawful requests from government or judicial authorities

4. As necessary to protect the legitimate rights, personal safety, or property of us or our users

5. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, provided an equivalent level of privacy protection is maintained

6. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

1. Access and Correction: you can view and edit your nickname and avatar in "Me → Edit Profile"

2. Deletion:

- You can delete whispers, lighthouses, and other content you posted

- You can submit an account deletion request in "Me → Settings → Delete Account". A cooling-off period applies, during which you may cancel the request at any time. Once the period ends, your account data will be deleted or anonymized (except data we are required by law to retain)

3. Withdrawal of Consent: you can turn off notification permission in system settings; stopping use of the service withdraws consent to future processing, without affecting the lawfulness of processing already carried out

4. Questions and Complaints: if you have questions about our data handling rules or believe your rights have been infringed, contact us as described in Section 11

7. Content Moderation and Anonymous Socializing

1. We may use automated tools to help identify user-posted content, but tool flags do not guarantee that all violations will be detected or blocked. We will review each community safety report and take appropriate action within 24 hours of receipt. We will remove substantiated objectionable or rule-violating content within that period and suspend or ban users responsible for substantiated abuse, including sexual exploitation or grooming of minors, hate, threats, harassment, bullying, or abuse. A report alone does not establish a violation or automatically result in a ban.

2. TalkAny provides anonymous social features, but anonymity does not exempt you from liability. Where illegal activity or lawful investigations by authorities are involved, we will cooperate as required by law and provide necessary information.

3. Except for content risk control, security protection, legal assistance, or other statutory or agreed circumstances, we do not proactively read your private chat content.

8. Protection of Minors

Our service is intended only for users aged 18 and above and is not directed at minors. By using the service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we discover that we have collected such information by mistake, we will take appropriate steps, including deletion, as soon as possible.

9. Local Storage Technologies

We use local storage technologies (such as local databases and preferences) to keep the app running properly, including:

- Keeping you signed in

- Caching the session list and app settings

- Caching static resources such as avatars

You can manage or clear local storage data through your device settings. Clearing local data may sign you out and require you to log in again.

10. Security Measures

We take multiple measures to protect your personal information, including:

1. Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS)

2. Irreversible encryption of stored passwords

3. Server-side authentication and access control

4. Media access authorization (non-public media is accessible only to the sender and recipient of a message)

5. Regular security audits and vulnerability fixes

That said, the internet is not an absolutely secure environment, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you discover a security vulnerability affecting your personal information, please notify us promptly.

11. Contact Us

If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions about this Privacy Policy, or wish to exercise your personal information rights, please contact us:

- Email: talkany.help@outlook.com

We will review each community safety report and take appropriate action within 24 hours of receipt. We will remove substantiated objectionable or rule-violating content within that period and suspend or ban users responsible for substantiated abuse, including sexual exploitation or grooming of minors, hate, threats, harassment, bullying, or abuse. A report alone does not establish a violation or automatically result in a ban. We will respond to other requests as soon as reasonably possible.

12. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated policy will be published in the app, and material changes will be communicated through prominent means. Please check back periodically. By continuing to use our services, you agree to the updated policy.
